Welcome back! We are so glad you are here! If this is your first time checking out our new blog, Our Grand Lives, you can learn more about us by reading our first two
posts - Welcome to Our Grand Lives and Meet the Grands! You'll find the links to each near
the bottom of this post (for the next few days) or available in the "Grand Moments" tab.
We are so grateful for your support and encouragement as we take on this passion project! Thanks to everyone who has subscribed to our site or has reached out to either of us personally during the past few days. We are definitely feeling the love! 💕
Earlier this week, when we introduced you to our families, perhaps you noticed that we’ve created code names for our family members. While our families are super excited for us as we begin this endeavor and they will definitely be part of our blog posts at times, we also wanted to respect their privacy moving forward. In addition to the nicknames we’ve outlined, you may find us using the terms the Grands (used, when referring to our generation), the Middles (our term of endearment for our children and their contemporaries) and the Littles (yes… that would be in reference to our sweet grandbabies)!
Today, as we wrap up this week-long introduction to our blog, we thought we’d outline our plans for the coming weeks as well as some future posts you may see in the New Year or beyond! We've been busy planning and we're so excited to get to the meat and potatoes, or rather, the content we hope to offer! We look forward to sharing our ideas for fun with EVERYONE - there are so many "Grands" in a Little's life who, we believe, will find our resources helpful, now or in the future, including grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, educators and caregivers alike! Whether you are a Grand who spends time with your Little(s) on a regular basis or a Grand whose visits with Littles are few and far between, we hope you’ll visit our site often! Here we go!
upcoming "sneak peek" posts
From now through the end of the year, look for us to publish one post at the beginning of each week! Our topics have been inspired by the holiday season ahead. Our families’ celebrations often focus on our Christian faith so a lot of our seasonal content this year will echo these beliefs. At the same time, we also trust that many of the activities and experiences we share can be modified to meet your family’s needs.
Once January arrives, we plan to post new content regularly (averaging 2 posts/week). One of our main goals in creating this blog is to build a library of resources that are easily accessible, for us and our readers! Our content will vary, encompassing 5 pillars of family life, which includes different aspects of our lives, especially as Grands to our Littles! We're also excited to share our joys and even a few challenges as we embrace this season of life!
Scroll below to see more of what’s in store for the Grands as the new year begins!
A lot of our content will focus on this! Look for us to post some of the following activities during our first few months…
• a winter wonderland of crafts, books & music
• interactive rhymes
• household happies: cotton balls
• open & shut
In the coming months, we look forward to sharing examples of
special festivities with you all…
• minute to win it - winter edition
• a hot chocolate bar
• our red & white valentine dinner
• welcome to the world, little one
Perhaps you are looking for a fun excursion or special event to share with your Littles…
We will offer a few ideas for you to consider…
• we love the library
• a winter walk
• heading to target
• singing in the car
During our first year as grandparents, we’ve had quite a few “a-ha” moments and opportunities to reflect! And, of course, these thoughts also found us recalling our own family traditions… some worth passing on to a new generation!
• becoming a grand
• the birthday box
• life lesson #1
• a grandparent’s journal
Finally, as Grands, we have a lot to brag about and special moments to capture…
After all, that’s a grandparent’s prerogative, right?
Look for us to share on occasion, through posts or future link ups like…
• life lately
• weekend wonders
• three things x two
• this and that
As you can hopefully tell, we can’t wait to get going! Of course, we'll also have a few surprise posts for you along the way. We have so much to share and so many connections to make! We hope you’ll join us on this new journey! IF YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS OUT, please remember to subscribe at the bottom of our home page. Thank you! Thank you!
Wishing you all the best weekend ahead!
See you next week when we talk turkey!
